Florence, Italy is where Robert Langdon spent during most of the events of Inferno. Along with Sienna Brooks, he solved clues which forced him to visit several historical buildings while trying to escape the WHO and the Consortium.
It is also the city where Langdon goes every June to attend an art conference.
